Garlands del Rio Boutique Hotel

What an amazing stay at Garlands. My wife and I spent one week here for our trip in PV, what a great atmosphere and staff. Would like to shout out Rigo and Jorge for the exceptional service and laughs.

This place is a hidden treasure in the heart of Puerto Vallarta’s Romantic Zone. My wife and I absolutely loved our stay, from the unique charm of the rooms to the personal, friendly energy of the entire staff. The price is more than fair for the experience you get. Every corner feels thoughtful and warm. Even though it’s a shared boutique space, it somehow feels private, like you have your own little villa tucked away by the river. The front desk team and maintenance staff were always kind and quick to help with anything we needed. You can tell everyone here takes pride in making the stay special. All week the staff kept encouraging us to visit their sister hotel, Rivera del Río Boutique Hotel, and on our last day we finally went. Now we know why they insisted. The rooftop pool there is unbelievable. The view over the city and ocean feels straight out of a movie, and the service matches it. That’s where we met Reuben, who made some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had, fresh and perfectly balanced. He even made multiple rounds of pico de gallo salsa from scratch while we sat by the bar. Between Garlands’ quiet charm and Rivera del Río’s rooftop views, the combination gives you the full Puerto Vallarta experience, local, personal, and romantic. If you want something more meaningful than a resort, stay here. You’ll leave refreshed, connected, and already planning to come back.

When you rate something extremely high one of the provisos is you need to know getting and looking for. So for example if one was looking for an all-inclusive modern beachfront hotel with live music... And they booked a boutique hotel. They would be disappointed. If you're looking for a incredibly well located, good value boutique hotel, I can't imagine you do better than this one. When you come up to the entrance you might feel a little trepidation. A big metal door facing a traditional Street. And then you open it and you walk down and inviting warm plant-filled hallway to the center of the place which is an oasis in the city. A. Jacuzzi a comfortable pool. A meeting haul. A kitchen where coffee is going to be found in the morning. You have the option of making it a bed and breakfast depending on how you book your room or can just go a la carte breakfast at a reasonable price. If however, you would prefer to wander down too one of the amazing bakeries and bring it home with you. Well, I just mentioned there's coffee downstairs for you... The rooms are somewhat themed, So it might behoove you to hop on their website and look at the rooms and say oh I'd like the one... Pretty hard to find a better location in PV. Right off the Isle C, on the Romantica side. When I had a little trouble with scheduling my transportation back, I wandered down to the front desk and was going to ask them for the use of their phone and instead they said oh. Please let me do that for you... Incredible service. Don't be shocked when you see ducks in the pool. Look closely. Those are decoys to keep other birds out:). Because the pool is in the middle of the surrounding rooms, I did mention it was an oasis, your warmest time is going to be when the Sun is coming straight down. But it's pretty comfortable all day. You can definitely look a lot longer and go a lot harder to find anything close to the value and comfort of this place provided you're looking for a boutique hotel:)

The best part of this hotel is the in-house cat Antonio. He would sneak into my balcony and wait to say hola to me at the door. Senor Antonio made our stay feels like home. I highly recommend this hotel to those travellers who appreciate a home away from home. This is a boutique hotel with great location. Every hotel staff I met are nice and warm. Antonio and his companion Amelia will love to greet you and try to have some playtime with you. Overall, this is a great hotel that echo the vibe of Puerto Vallarta.

Stunning and absolutely unique place. Individual and incredible approach to every guest. Welcoming atmosphere. Marta, Xavier, Ivan and others so helpful, Caring and kind. Had a really lovely stay here. The river view from my room was beautiful and super peaceful. The breakfast staff were so friendly and accommodating with dietary requests, which I really appreciated. The whole place has a warm, relaxed vibe - I loved the little pool and the honour system at the bar. It felt personal and welcoming, not like a big resort. I’d definitely come back.

Amazing place to stay. I love love love this boutique hotel. It is a beautiful older building with incredible architecture. The staff was amazing they were friendly and very helpful. They came in and fixed the bed and gave us new towels everyday. We did not have the breakfast just because we wanted to go out and eat locally. The bed was comfortable and our room was clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel and will probably stay here if I am ever back. Also many friendly cats live here.

We visited Puerto Vallarta in early Feb and spent 6 nights at Garlands. It has a great location because its sits on the parque that serves as a border between Old Downtown Puerto Vallarta and Zona Romantica. Additionally the closest beach is a short 3 block walk but too you can reach beaches and beachclubs within 15mins walking. GARLANDS is a classic local home-60s hotel converted to a current unique hotel. A sprawling multi story home-hotel that sits on a river that runs to the Bahia, Garlands has a very unique atmosphere, including some roaming cats including our new friend "Antonio". This hotel was a safe, secure and well situated place for our vist. We easily accessed beaches and restaurants while also easily accessing a water taxi to Yelapa and Ubers to the Marina area. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were equipped nicely for our stay. Marta and her co workers provided a wonderful stay for ny birthday week! In all a very recommended hotel.
